Rehabilitation
Returning patients to maximum independence
Working within the mindset that all patients aspire to return to their previous living environment after rehab, we collaborate closely with the patient, their physician and their families to create a solid foundation of skills that supports a safe discharge. This comprehensive approach may include post-surgical rehabilitation, physical and occupational therapy, and wound care as necessary.
Our Medicare-certified rehab gym features a therapy suite equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom and laundry room, allowing therapists to assist patients in managing everyday tasks as they prepare to return home. We also offer various modality programs, including diathermy, TENS units and ultrasound therapy, to aid in pain management, strengthening and improving circulation during recovery.
Additionally, our car simulator helps therapists work with patients to restore their functional abilities, enabling them to enjoy community events, visit friends, grocery shop and engage in everyday activities once again.

Rehabilitation FAQs
What are the goals of Rehabilitation?
To restore function, improve mobility, enhance independence and support overall recovery and well-being in order to achieve the highest level of function for an individual.
Who needs Rehabilitation?
Rehabilitation helps individuals realize their best life possible. This care is designed for those recovering from surgery, injury, stroke or illness who need therapy to regain mobility, strength, and daily living skills.
What does Rehabilitative care include?
Therapy services such as physical, occupational and speech therapy to help individuals regain strength, mobility and independence after injury, illness or surgery.
What is the difference between Rehabilitation and a Nursing Home?
Rehabilitative services, like those offered at Preserve at Fairfield Glade, focus on helping individuals recover after an illness, injury or surgery through therapies such as physical, occupational and speech therapy. While many rehabilitation stays are short-term, some individuals may require extended care depending on their progress and condition.
Nursing homes, on the other hand, provide long-term nursing care for individuals with chronic medical conditions, disabilities or those who require ongoing assistance with daily activities.
